ASSOCIATE JUDGE POSITION: BEXAR COUNTY CIVIL DISTRICT COURTS

The Bexar County Civil District Judges announce that a position is open for an Associate Judge to serve the Bexar County Civil District Courts. Applicants must be United States citizens and residents of Bexar County, Texas. Applicants must be licensed Texas attorneys in good standing and have been licensed to practice law for at least 4 years. The person selected will perform highly responsible judicial duties in all areas of Texas family law, including but not limited to child protection cases, original suits affecting the parent-child relationship, divorces, annulments, modifications, adoptions, terminations, and enforcements. The person selected will be responsible for presiding over a child protection docket in addition to hearing other matters referred by the Civil District Judges. The person selected may be called upon to hear general civil matters as well. The successful Applicant will demonstrate a wide knowledge of the Texas Family Code with special emphasis on Chapters 262 and 263, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, and Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure.
