Part-time Associate Attorney, Trademark
Seeking trademark attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience prosecuting trademarks to join our virtual firm. This is a part-time position, working irregular number of hours on an as needed basis. I anticipate an average of 40-60 hours monthly to start, with gradually increasing workload. Texas license preferred. Physical location does not matter (but must be in the U.S.).
Characteristics
This person must pay close attention to detail and accuracy and be organized, analytical, and goal-oriented. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants the resources and support of an established trademark practice but doesn’t like going into an office every day; who wants to work in a professional setting without the constraints of a traditional law firm; and who enjoys working with clients but prefers to work from home.
Work Subject Matter
This person will prepare and prosecute federal trademark applications, including working with clients to determine the best strategy for their needs, assessing availability searches, and responding to Office Actions. They will also assist with TTAB cases when the need arises.
Work Environment
We are an extremely client-oriented firm. Due to our virtual nature, excellent communication and organization skills are a necessity, as well as the desire to work as part of a remote team. In addition to myself, our primary team member is our admin assistant, who is also a certified trademark paralegal. We work with a network of other attorneys and professionals as required.
Hours and Compensation
Compensation will be on an hourly basis, rate based on experience, for both client-billed time and time spent on tasks in support of the firm, such as team meetings. No benefits, but I try to be generous with end-of-year bonuses!
