SABA's Community Justice Program is now an independent organization, the San Antonio Legal Services Association (SALSA) [ https://www.sa-lsa.org/ ] .

This pandemic is causing inconveniences for everybody, but for some of our neighbors it is causing potentially life-altering problems.

As unemployment rates skyrocket, SALSA anticipates a housing crisis when orders preventing evictions are lifted. To assist tenants with obtaining relief and to ensure continuity of services to the vulnerable populations we are already serving, SALSA has created virtual training and remote legal assistance opportunities so that volunteers are equipped to provide critical legal services in this new environment. SALSA staff, their partners at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, and their cadre of SALSA volunteer mentors are available to assist volunteers who are stepping outside of their practice area during these unprecedented times.
(1) Join SALSA's volunteer network [ https://sa-lsa.volunteerhub.com ] . Sign-up for a volunteer training/shift or just let us know your skills and interests so they can tailor a future opportunity for you.
(2) Contribute to SALSA's efforts to provide access to justice in the wake of COVID-19 by donating through The Big Give Emergency Relief fundraiser [ https://www.thebiggivesa.org/organizations/salsa ] . The Association of Corporate Counsel South/Central Texas Chapter, as part of their annual commitment to pro bono legal services, will match the first $20,000.00 raised.
