As one of the leading bar organizations in the state of Texas, we are proud of our history and excited about our future. BCWB has a strong tradition of service to the community and of promoting equal justice under the law. Most importantly, we support Bexar County women attorneys, from varying backgrounds and practices, through education, networking, mentoring, and social support systems.
We continue our long history of service to and support of women attorneys as we launch the inaugural LEAD Academy class! The LEAD Academy is a leadership-development program born out of a desire to assist women attorneys in attaining the highest level of success in their firms and organizations, in their communities, and in the legal profession. Please visit our LEAD page for more information.
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Members often tell us they want to get involved. And we welcome the help, but I realize I personally was letting you down by responding, "just tell me how you want to help!" Shame on me for putting the onus on our members. Shame on me for putting the onus on our members. Lett me tell you about the wonderful opportunities we have coming up this year for you to lead and to assist. President's Party on February 23, we will be welcoming our new and renewing members and honoring our past presidents. We will also be voting for this year's entries from Young Women's Leadership Academy into the Law Day contest. Your critical eye helps us select our local contest winners and identify the entries we spend on the state level. As my kids might say, this is an easy peasy lemon squeeze volunteer opportunity and it is our first volunteer opportunity of the year. Help us break the volunteer ice and come share a drink with your fellow members.
BCWB is here for you and because of you. We thank you for all of your past service and we can't wait to see you this year!
- Lisa Alcantar, BCWB President

ANNUAL RETREAT: Judge Renee Yanta is in the process of kindling a roaring Retreat with the help of Nicole Jackson. As always, we are curious as to what you would like to see at Retreat. Have you heard a phenomenal speaker recently that you think would be enriching? Would you like to sponsor a portion of the Retreat or help set up? Just let Judge Renee know you want to be on her team by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
