PEARLS FOUNDATION

2023 Autumn Affair Beneficiary

PEARLS Foundation is a nonprofit entity established in 2018 to support the efforts and endeavors of the Bexar County Restorative Courts: PEARLS (Preparation, Esteem, Achievement, Resiliency, Learning, Strength and Stamina) and EAGLES (Esteem, Achievement, Grit, Learning and Leadership, Empowerment, and Strength). PEARLS Court was founded by Judge Renée Yanta in 2015, serving teenage girls, and is currently led by Judge Rosie Alvarado, presiding Judge of the 408th Civil District Court and Judge Angelica Jimenez, presiding Judge of the 438th Civil District Court. In 2020, the Court expanded to include EAGLES, serving teenage boys under the leadership of Judge David Canales, presiding Judge of the 73rd Civil District Court. PEARLS and EAGLES Courts are based on a mission to heal, love, and inspire teens who are permanent members of the Bexar County foster care system. With the support of the PEARLS Foundation, the Courts are able to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to construct a village of support promoting self-esteem, success, and resiliency and provide continuing support to these young adults after aging out.
